International students are required to meet the same academic standards and follow similar admissions procedures that apply to all students. To be considered for admissions and before an I-20 is submitted, international students must download and submit the following documents and information:

1. Application for Admissions
2. Application for I-20
3. Original documentation of secondary school education
4. Original documentation demonstrating English proficiency (IELTS or TOEFL or US high school completion)
5. Evidence of sufficient financial resources
6. Proof of Health Insurance valid in United States
7. Evidence of post-secondary education transcripts
 

English Requirements

The Oklahoma State Board of Regents of Higher Education has established guidelines for the admission of international students whose native language is not English. It is a requirement that applicants for first-time admission at the undergraduate level meet standard admission requirements of a state college or university and (1. Provide evidence that they attended a United States high school and successfully completed the core curriculum in English; or (2. Achieve a score of 500 or better (paper-based) or 173 or better (computer-based) or 61 (IBT) on the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) or (3. Scored 460 (paper) or 140 (computer) or 48 (IBT) on the TOEFL test administered at a State Regents’ approved English language center or program and successfully completed a 12-week course of study, also at an approved center or program; or (4. Achieved a score of 6.0 or better on the IELTS.  All international students, with the exception of those from Australia, New Zealand, United Kingdom, and Canada, will have to submit proof of fulfillment of the language requirements outlined above.

 

Other Requirements

The SEVIS fee of $100 must be paid before going to apply for a visa. Information regarding the I-901 and payment is located at http://www.ice.gov/sevis/i901.

At the time of enrollment, the student must present a valid passport with an F-1 visa and an I-94 form showing the date of stay in the United States. All international students not transferring from a university in the United States must take the ACT. Testing dates will be available at Carl Albert.

All international students must have health insurance valid in the United States
