CASC Students Named to All-Oklahoma Academic Team  

POTEAU – Two Carl Albert State College students have been selected to the All-Oklahoma Academic Team.

Matt Griffin and John David Ferguson received the honor from the Oklahoma Association of Community Colleges.

The academic team program recognizes outstanding two-year college students from across the state. They were nominated by CASC President Dr. Brandon R. Webb.

“John David and Matt represent the excellence we look for in our students at CASC,” Dr. Webb said. “These young men are active on campus and have high academic standards and a great outlook on life. We congratulate them on their success.”

Only 33 Oklahoma students are selected to the team.

Matt Griffin is a Computer Information Systems major from Sallisaw. He is the president of Phi Theta Kappa and a member of the CASC Scholars Program where he is a residential assistant. He also is active in the Computer Science Club and is a Viking Ambassador, giving college tours to prospective students.

He will graduate in May and plans to attend Rogers State University in Claremore.

John David Ferguson is a Pre-Med student from Haworth. He is active in Phi Theta Kappa and serves as vice president of the Student Government Association. He is a member of the CASC Scholars Program where he is a residential assistant.

He will graduate in May and has narrowed his future college choices to three.
