How to Enroll Using the CASC Portal

The CASC Portal is a site where students can locate information about admission, graduation, financial aid, CASC schedules, student software tutorials and more.  Current students with a CASC ID and PIN can enroll via the Internet during enrollment periods. The Office of Telecommunications has provided a video tutorial for those who prefer to watch a video at http://my.carlalbert.edu/ics/Student_Software_Support/Portal.jnz. Text-based instructions are provided below.

  1. Follow the link to the CASC Portal
  2. At the top of the screen you will see boxes to enter a Username and Password.  Your Username is your CASC ID Number and your password is your CASC PIN Number.  Enter these in the appropriate boxes and then select the Login button
  3. You will see a set of blue tabs at the top of the screen.  Select the My Academics tab to access the enrollment feature
  4. After selecting the My Academics tab you should see a section called Enroll Here
  5. In the Enroll Here section select the Course Search link to access the online schedule
  6. Note: If you have an alert showing a hold, you will be able to browse the schedule but you will not be able to add your own courses.  Please see your advisor for enrollment.
  7. Select the Term in which you wish to enroll
  8. To browse all classes within a specific department such as Accounting or English, select the option in the Department drop down.
  9. Select the Search button
  10. A list of all courses available within the selected department appears.  You'll notice that there is a hyperlink for each course listed.
  11. Follow the link to the course in which you wish to enroll
  12. Verify the course information given such as prerequisites, location, time, and instructor. 
  13. If the class is open you will see a link for adding the course to your desired course list.  Click that link to add to your list.
  14. Repeat the procedure until you have added all the desired courses to your MAYBE list.
  15. When you have all courses listed for enrollment, select the Add/Drop course button below the list to register.
  16. To see your new schedule, follow the link on the left for Student Schedule
  17. To print your schedule, follow the Print Friendly link in the upper right corner of your schedule view and then choose the Send to Printer button at the top of that screen
  18. After your schedule is printed, follow the link to Exit Printer Mode
  19. Important: Log out of your account before you leave the computer by following the Log Out link at the top of your portal screen
