COURSE DESCRIPTION:

This course is designed to give the student hands-on experience with interactive media and animation. The course will cover basic animation techniques including: image sequencing, tweening animation and dynamic motion.  The course will also encompasses action scripting, keyboard navigation and interactive design for developing media user interfaces

 

Pre requisite:

CS1103 or equivalent

Other Requirements:2GB Pivot Flash Drive USB 2.0

Students must purchase a USB storage drive (sometimes called jump drives, thumb drives, or flash drives) for   storage of classroom project files.   These devices hold anywhere from 64 megabytes to 8 gigabytes, while floppy disks hold only 1.44 megabytes.  The new drives are also much more reliable than the floppy disks, which tend to crash.

They are available from the CASC Bookstore or from most stores that sell computer storage devices

 

Instructional Techniques:

Class will be taught using lecture, demonstration, and hands-on experience in the form of lab activities and homework assignments

 

 

Evaluation:

Chapter reviews and tests will be a combination of completion problems, multiple choice questions, and applications exercises.

Students who miss exam dates will report to class at a specific date and time set aside by the instructor for make-up exams.

 

Grades:

Grades will be figured from a total point system. Tests, homework and daily assignments will be assigned a number of points and a total tallied at the end of each week. Individuals will be graded according to percentages of their points to total points.

Attendance/Administrative Withdrawal:

It is the responsibility of the student to attend class and submit assignments as specified in the course syllabus. Students who are absent more than 4 days will drop one letter grade and Students who are absent more than 6 days will be dropped from the course.Students who fail to comply with the course requirements may be administratively dropped from the course by the instructor.

 

Students in this course may be withdrawn from the course by the instructor should the following situation apply:

  • The student fails to submit assignments for 2 consecutive weeks

Late Work:

Students must hand in work by deadlines in order to receive full credit. 10 points will be deducted per day on all  late work .  In case of serious illness or other emergencies, the student should notify the instructor prior to assignment deadlines to make special arrangements.
