Annual Carl Albert State College Vike Hike Results
The annual Carl Albert State College Vike Hike was March 28, 2015. Of the 589 registered for the half marathon/5K event, there were 487 timed finishers. The Vike Hike is a USATF certified course/sanctioned race.
The race coordinators stated their appreciation to once again partner with The Choctaw Nation to make this event possible.
Samuel Young of Poteau was the first male to cross the finish line in the half marathon. Hali Repass of Poteau was the first female to finish the half marathon.
Ben Scott of Zionsville, Indiana was the first male to finish the 5K, and Jenny Chitwood of Wister was the first female across the finish line in the 5K.
Event planners were pleased with the number of participants, and especially pleased to see a number of faculty, staff, students, and family members of Carl Albert State College involved. First place winner Samuel Young is a CASC student, and Hali Repass is a faculty member. It was noted that this event benefits the CASC Development Foundation by providing scholarship funds for the Scholars Program.
