Carl Albert State College – Sallisaw STEM Fair

Carl Albert State College-Sallisaw hosted the First annual STEM Fair on May 7 in the J.T. and Mary Jo Stites Center.  Seventh, eighth and ninth grade students from Gore, Muldrow, and Sallisaw participated in the event.

CASC Vice President Dr. Kathy Harrell explained, “STEM Fairs are opportunities for students to develop theories based on science, technology, engineering, and/or mathematics and develop projects based on those theories. CASC-Sallisaw STEM Fair was supported by the corporate sponsorship of SLPT, GRDA/City of Sallisaw, and Cookson Hills.”

Pictured are CASC representatives Jaime Henson (left) and Kristen Peerson (right) with first place winner Caden Bailey.   The second place winner was Kaite Braund, and third place winners Conner Daffin and Sawyer Harris are also pictured.   First, second and third place teams all represented Sallisaw.

Certificates and cash prizes went to first, second and third place winners as well as the supervising teacher for the first place winner and the school of the first place winner. Honorable Mention certificates were awarded to Justin Richard and Preston Glover from Sallisaw, Ashyton Dean from Muldrow, and Nick Asbill and Abby Maust of Sallisaw.
