Carl Albert State College Shares Viking Pride to Show Appreciation to Poteau Police Department

Carl Albert State College President Jay Falkner and CASC Director of Campus Police Chad Brown recently delivered CASC Viking Pride shirts to members of the Poteau Police Department in a show of appreciation for the strong partnership between the two departments.

Brown explained the importance of the relationship between the Poteau and CASC Police Departments.  “We simply could not do all we do at CASC without the help we receive from the Poteau Police Department.   They have CLEET (Council on Law Enforcement Education and Training) instruction that we participate in, they are ready to assist us if necessary, and we sincerely appreciate always knowing they are available to help us out.”

CASC and the Poteau Police Department have an official Memorandum of Understanding stating they will help one another with services and security.  Brown stated the CASC police are always available to do whatever possible to offer assistance to Poteau in exchange for Poteau’s help at the College.

The CASC Police department has three full time members including Darrell Colwell, Jackie Linville, and Brown.  In addition, Brown stated the CASC department employs four of the Poteau department to work part time at the College.

President Falkner stated, “We really appreciate the Poteau Police Department and all they do for the community.  And as Chad stated, we could not do what we do at CASC without their assistance.”
