Carl Albert State College Students Nominated to All-USA Community College Academic Team

Three Carl Albert State College students were honored at the All-Oklahoma/USA Academic Team and OACC Scholarships Student Recognition Ceremony on March 7, 2016 at the Oklahoma State Capitol.

Students named to the academic team from Carl Albert State College were Rachel Carlile of Hugo, and Maria-Elena Hurtado-McCool of Poteau.  Chase West of Pocola was awarded an Oklahoma Association of Community Colleges (OACC) tuition waiver scholarship.

The All-Oklahoma Academic Team program recognizes outstanding two-year college students nominated by their college president. The program is sponsored by Follett Higher Education Group and presented by USA TODAY with additional support provided by the American Association of Community Colleges and Phi Theta Kappa (PTK).  Annette Staats, Carl Albert State College’s Phi Theta Kappa Contact Advisor, explained that PTK students from across Oklahoma are selected to represent their community colleges on the All-USA Academic team.
