Carl Albert State College Western Film Shootout – Thursday, April 16, 2015

The Carl Albert State College Western Film Shootout begins at 7 p.m. this Thursday, April 16, 2015 at the Hamilton Auditorium on the Poteau campus.  Admission is $3, or $2 with a current CASC ID.

CASC instructor Marcus Blair stated, “Film students are going to premiere four original westerns that were filmed locally. Each film is about 20 minutes long, and audience members will choose a favorite.”  He continued, “We have not had the Shootout in a few years, so we are excited to bring it back.  Making a western is difficult, and students have to be careful about every little detail so there are no anachronisms. Each film takes place in the Old West and utilizes the locations around eastern Oklahoma that were involved in the real west, such as the Peter Conser House.”

Blair cautioned, “Each film contains minor bloodshed, and therefore could be considered rated PG.”
