The Carl Albert State College Educational Talent Search, Poteau, held its Leadership Camp in Poteau, OK on May 30thand 31st for middle and high school students. The purpose of leadership camp is to develop leaderships skills and self-esteem in students.
The first day of leadership camp, students participated in self-empowerment exercises and attended anti-bullying and self-awareness workshops. Students also attended a Visions and Goals Development workshop.
The final day of leadership camp, students participated in leadership development, college and career readiness, and decision-making making workshops.
CASC ETS, Poteau, hosted 33 students from its target schools in LeFlore, Latimer and Haskell counties.
“This year’s camp was a blast,” said Michelle White, CASC Director of Federal TRiO Programs. “Our students learned vital skills and techniques that will help them as they get their education and throughout their lives. It is so inspiring for me to watch these young people interact with one another and develop into the leaders of tomorrow.”
