Chamber Night at Carl Albert State College Basketball

Chamber Night at Carl Albert State College Basketball

Carl Albert State College hosted Chamber of Commerce Night at Viking Basketball on Monday, January 12, 2015. Both Carl Albert teams were victorious in the games with Murray State.

In addition to free admission, free food, and enrollment information being provided in the gym lobby, students were selected to attempt to win book scholarships by making a basket from half court. The students worked their way from short range shots to half court in their attempt to win. Tiffany Gantt from Wright City, Colby Morrison from Wister, and Stephen Wemmerus from Wister made all their baskets leading to half court, but none were able to sink the final shot to secure the scholarship.

Executive Director/CEO of the Poteau Chamber of Commerce Karen Wages, and Chairman of the Chamber Board Doug Hall, represented the Poteau Chamber in shooting free throws at half time. Other civic groups in Poteau have attended Viking games throughout the year to take their turn at the free throw line to determine which organization will walk away with the most free throws this season.
