The 12th Annual Cherokee Casino/Carl Albert State College Scholarship Golf Scramble was Saturday, May 10 at the Shadow Creek Country Club. According to Paul Marshall, event organizer for Carl Albert, it was a beautiful day for the event. “We would like to thank all of the hole sponsors, food sponsors, and players. Through your support, we were able to raise funds to provide scholarships for students to attend the College’s Sallisaw campus.”

Taking first place was the team of Jordan Whitford, Kyle Tingel, Gerald Glass, and Billy Torix.

Second place went to Tyler Martindale, Jeff Humphries, Duane Martindale, and Shea Humphries. The wildcard drawing for third place went to the team of Bill Wilson Jr.

In addition to the winning teams, several other prizes were awarded. Tyler Martindale, who graduated from Carl Albert the evening prior to the scramble, hit a hole-in-one on #3 and won $500. Thanks go to Blue Ribbon Auto Group for providing the hole-in-one prize.

Jordan Whitford was closest to the pin on #11 and Billy Torix was closest to the pin on #15. Both won Nike putters donated by Tommy Stites.

Two prizes were awarded for longest putt. Jim Rogers had the longest putt on hole #13. Longest putt winner on hole #14 was CASC student Sam Tehee.

Carl Albert State College President Garry M. Ivey extended thanks for everyone’s efforts and their continued support toward raising funds for student scholarships.
