The Choctaw Nation Color Guard officially posted the colors at the Carl Albert State College Carter Lecture Series on October 19, 2016.

In stating his appreciation, CASC President Jay Falkner said, “The Carter Lecture Series was a big day for us at Carl Albert, and having the Choctaw Nation Color Guard on hand to post the colors made the event even more special.”   He continued, “We are so proud to be partners with the Choctaw Nation, and appreciate the effort they provided by having members of their valued Color Guard on our campus.”

According to information provided by the Choctaw Nation, the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma’s Color Guard is an esteemed group of military Choctaw members who assist the Nation by posting colors at tribal events and community organizations, rendering military funeral honors, Pow-Wows, marching in parades and Trail of Tears Walks.  Events are scattered throughout the United States, and members of the Guard travel to attend selected events.
