Cinemortis Horror Film Festival Tuesday, October 29th at Carl Albert State College
Carl Albert State College film students will treat the community to a night of terror on Tuesday, October 29th at the annual Cinemortis Student Horror Film Festival. The event will begin at 7 p.m. in the Hamilton Auditorium on CASC’s Poteau campus and admission is free.
According to Marcus Blair, CASC Film Studies instructor, this year’s theme is “Urban Legends” and each film will somehow dramatize a commonly-shared, commonly-believed urban legend. Blair explained, “We wanted to bring to life those horrible tales that seem to be passed around from generation to generation. Common urban legends include The Hook Man, Bloody Mary (say her name in the mirror and she will appear) and many more. The films will be judged by a panel of judges, but the audience will choose a favorite as well.”
Blair continued, “All of the Cinemortis films will be frightening and contain realistic special effects, therefore children will not be admitted. This is the ninth year we’ve had Cinemortis and the goal is always the same – to give our students a place to showcase their work. We know the community will appreciate what the students have accomplished.”
