Regent Jahni S. Tapley of Idabel was appointed to serve as a member of the Carl Albert State College Board of Regents beginning in the fall of 2013. Regent Tapley is a 2000 Carl Albert State College graduate where she attended on a softball scholarship, a 2003 graduate of Oklahoma State University, and a 2006 graduate of Oklahoma City University School of Law. In addition to working as a private practice attorney, she is also a part time municipal judge for the cities of Valliant and Haworth, and serves as Interim Chief Executive Officer of McCurtain Memorial Hospital in Idabel. Tapley’s focus as an attorney is on family law where she is a Guardian ad Litem for children in the middle of custody disputes. She also represents children and parents who are involved in DHS cases. She is a recipient of the 2009 Journal Record Leadership in Law Award, a member of the CHIO (County Health Improvement Organization) Committee, and the OSU Alumni Leadership Board. Her professional memberships include the American Society for Healthcare Risk Management, Oklahoma Bar Association, McCurtain County Bar Association, and Oklahoma Municipal Judges Association. She is an active member of First Baptist Church, Valliant.
