First-time entering freshman have never attended college or have completed 6 cr-hrs or less after high school or completed some college coursework under concurrent enrollment. New Freshmen Students must submit the following credentials with their online or paper application (Poteau Campus enrollment 918-647-1302 or Sallisaw Campus call 918-775-6977 ). Please submit:
- Application for Admissions, Driver’s License, and Social Security Card.
- Official high school transcript or GED
- Test scores (SAT or ACT, or ACCUPLACER for the 21+ age student)
To be admitted as a Freshman student to Carl Albert State College, you must have taken the ACT or SAT, or, if you are 21 years and older you are further permitted to test with ACCUPLACER. CASC as a community college in the Oklahoma State System of Higher Education is an open enrollment institution that does not require a minimum test score for entrance to CASC, but, uses the test results to place a student into freshman-level English, Math, Reading, and Science based courses.
Students must have graduated from an accredited high school and completed the following curricular requirements:
#4 years of English
#3 years of Math
#3 years of History and Citizenship
#3 years of Lab Science
#2 years or units of foreign language, computer science or any other of the above subjects
When students test low on entrance testing or lack the required high school coursework, they are determined to be deficient in those subject(s) and will be required to remediate. Remediation must be completed within the students’ first two semesters of freshman enrollment.
Advising & Enrollment
“New and Transfer Students must submit credentials with their application for admissions and have those credentials evaluated by Office of Admissions Staff. All new freshmen students MUST be fully admitted before enrolling in an Enrollment Session. All transfer students MUST be fully admitted before making an appointment
with an Academic Advisor to enroll.
Once fully admitted, you are required to enroll for an Enrollment Session. Our Enrollment Sessions are designed to equip you with all of the tools you need to successfully get started here at CASC! We will create your schedule, go on an in-depth campus tour, and discuss important topics such as online resources (Vikeconnect, Blackboard, Student Email), Housing Options, Student ID’s, Payment Plans, and much more! In order to best utilize the time we have during our sessions, we need for you to accurately complete the Enrollment Session Registration form below. You will receive a confirmation email letting you know that we have received your information as well as a verification phone call closer to the time of your session.
