Also, in the lobby Monday night – enrollment assistance plus information regarding pending new programs
The community is invited to attend the Carl Albert State College basketball games free of charge on Monday, January 12, 2015.
Randy Graves, Associate Vice President for Student Life stated, “It is Chamber Appreciation Night, so we decided to have free admission. In addition to the games, we will have some fun competition for students and chamber members to compete for prizes during both half times.” Among the planned activities, students will have the opportunity to be selected to shoot from half court to win a book scholarship at the CASC Bookstore. Free hotdogs will be served in the lobby. The concession stand will be open, and free stadium cups will be handed out with each water or soft drink purchase. Graves continued, “We hope to have a great crowd to support the Vikings on Monday night.” The women’s game begins at 6 p.m. and the men’s game is at 8 p.m.
Jay Falkner, Associate Vice President for Enrollment Management explained that with classes beginning on January 14th, there will be enrollment assistance available in the lobby of the Thompson Fitness Center on Monday evening beginning at 6 p.m. “There is still time to make plans to be a student this spring at Carl Albert. If you have not been able to find a time during the day to drop by, Monday night will be a great time to stop by campus and let us help you with the necessary steps to attend classes this spring.”
Dr. Jason Morrison, Vice President for Academics shared, “We have several new programs awaiting approval at the state level, and we will have faculty and staff on hand in the lobby on Monday evening to answer questions regarding the new degrees. We think these programs will be very popular because they lead to jobs that are in demand, and the classes for these degrees will be available online through the Carl Albert Virtual Campus.” Two of the new programs planned to begin in the fall of 2015 are Health Information Technology, and also Occupational Health and Safety Technician.
