Karlee Loula – 2014 Rothbaum Outstanding Graduate
Karlee Loula is the 2014 recipient of the Julian J. Rothbaum Outstanding Graduate Award at Carl Albert State College. The Rothbaum Award is the College’s highest academic honor bestowed on a CASC student.
The $1500 cash scholarship is in honor of the late Julian Rothbaum of Tulsa. Rothbaum was a close friend of Carl Albert, a great benefactor to Carl Albert State College, and provided the funding for the Outstanding Graduate Award.
The daughter of Mike and Tiffaney Loula, Karlee graduated from Binger-Oney High School prior to attending Carl Albert. She is a Health, Physical Education and Recreation major and will continue her education at SWOSU in the fall. While at Carl Albert she has been a member of the Carl Albert softball team, Scholars Program, BCM SWAT Team, served as SGA Secretary, and was President of the Native American Club.
When discussing why she chose to attend Carl Albert State College, Karlee stated, “Carl Albert is a great place to start your college journey. The faculty and staff are some of the nicest people and are very helpful.” In giving advice to students heading to Carl Albert, Karlee stated, “Shortly after being here, it will begin to feel like home and you won’t want to leave after two incredible years.”
As the Rothbaum recipient, Karlee will speak at the Carl Albert State College graduation on Friday, May 9 at 7:30 p.m. Graduation is on the College’s Poteau campus at the Mick Thompson Fitness Center.
