Kirbi Walker – Success at Carl Albert State College
Kirbi Lain Walker graduated from Carl Albert State College and will return this fall to begin the RN program at the Sallisaw campus. According to Kirbi, her path to becoming a college graduate was a bit delayed, but is now back on track.
She began her educational journey at Monroe Elementary, then she attended Poteau High School. Her plan was to finish her Allied Health major at Carl Albert last fall, however a bad car wreck in 2014 pushed her completion to this spring.
Along with giving much of her time to school, Kirbi spends time with family including husband Randy Bryant and children Blayn Bryant, Kily Schlooser, and Tucker Bryant. Her parents are Ira Walker and Glenda Riggs.
Kirbi shared that the Student Support Service staff members at Carl Albert have been very helpful in her success as a student. She also stated, “I loved my time at Carl Albert, it was such an enjoyable experience. I liked the fact that the instructors knew me by my first name, I wasn’t just a face in the crowd.” She concluded, “I can’t wait to continue to pursue my college career in the RN program at the Sallisaw campus.”
