Lunchbox Lecture at CASC Sallisaw – The Business Behind the Game of Baseball
Alex Freedman, Director of Media and Relations for the Oklahoma City Dodgers spoke at the recent Carl Albert State College Lunchbox Lecture at Sallisaw.
Freeman provided information about the business behind the game of baseball as well as a little history about the OKC Dodgers. He explained to CASC students, faculty and staff in attendance that the current Dodgers are the Triple A affiliate of the LA Dodgers. He noted that professional baseball was first introduced to the State in 1904 with the OKC Indians.
Freedman was presented a Carl Albert State College baseball cap, and two CASC students won OKC Dodger gear at the event.
The Lunchbox Lecture series is provided by the CASC Office of Student Life, and there are two addition lectures scheduled. November 2nd will feature Stephanie Thompson – Guideposts/Angels on Earth. On November 16th, Trey Garner with the Northwest Arkansas Naturals will be the keynote speaker. Both November events are at the Poteau campus at 12:10 p.m. in the Student Center.
