Scholarship Deadline is Friday, February 13, 2015 at Carl Albert State College
Time to apply for scholarships and also for the Pell Grant
Friday, February 13, 2015 is the deadline for scholarship applications at Carl Albert State College. Applications for admissions, scholarships, and housing are all online at carlalbert.edu.
Along with applying for scholarships, it is imperative that all students fill out a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) as soon as possible to see if they qualify for a Pell Grant. The FAFSA can be found online, and if a student needs assistance filling this form out, Carl Albert has staff members available to assist. The FAFSA is a free application, so students should never pay someone to complete this form.
The earlier a student applies for the Pell Grant, the earlier his or her financial aid package can be processed. Students waiting until the last minute prior to classes starting often times are stuck not knowing if they are getting financial assistance and it is a burden to them. By applying early, a student can know exactly what they will receive from the grant and then plan accordingly.
Carl Albert offers an incredible number of scholarship opportunities. For many students, the award of a Carl Albert scholarship alone or combined with other financial aid can mean having most or even all of their first two years of college paid for from scholarships and grants instead of out of pocket.
Call the Carl Albert State College Enrollment Center for information and guidance at 918-647-1393, or stop by at either the Poteau or Sallisaw campus for assistance.
