Shady Point Student Wins $100 for half court shot at Carl Albert State College Hot Shot Competition

Ryder Meeks from Shady Point Public Schools recently won $100 for making a half court shot at Carl Albert State College in a Hot Shot Competition.

Several weeks ago, Coach Victor Pierce from Shady Point took his 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th grade boy and girl basketball players to watch basketball games at Carl Albert State College.

Coach Pierce had already chosen Ryder to try his hand at attempting a basket, but Ryder had no idea he was shooting for a prize.  According to Coach Pierce, most of his students had never been to a college game and were really excited to attend the Viking games.  Ryder is an 8th grader and the son of Jennifer Meeks.
