Shannen D. McCroskey – Student Success at Carl Albert State College

Shannen D. McCroskey is graduating from Carl Albert State College with a social/political science degree and will transfer to Oklahoma State University to major in Agricultural Communications with a minor in Animal Science- Equestrian Studies.  She is a resident of Poteau and daughter of Brenda Lou Hocott.

McCroskey stated, “While at Carl Albert, I had the incredible opportunity to attend and graduate from not only the NEW (National Education of Women’s) Leadership Academy, but also serve as the 2014 Nigh Leadership Scholar.  On campus I was fortunate enough to actively participate in the CASC Scholars Program, Student Government Association, Spanish Club, VIKES Club, SWAT Team, and Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society.”

She concluded, “Carl Albert State College is a great transitional school between High School and a University. There are so many opportunities to thrive here, as well faculty and staff who put student success as their primary goal.”
