Spring Semester at Carl Albert State College Begins – Still time for last minute enrollment

The spring semester at Carl Albert State College is off to a great start as students returned to classes on January 15. President Garry M. Ivey stated, “We had students on campus last week attending interim classes, but today (Wednesday) is the first day of the spring semester. It is always exciting to have the students move back to the dorms, and also see classrooms full throughout the day and into the evening.”

Ivey continued, “We are pleased to be able to offer courses at Poteau, Sallisaw and online in order to make attending college as convenient as possible for our students. Our faculty and staff do a great job preparing our students.  Our graduates receive a high quality of instruction, and they do well when they enter the workforce and/or when they continue their education.  We offer a variety of certificates and degrees, and we are doing our research to see what new programs we might add in the future to enable our students to graduate at Carl Albert and move forward in their career paths.”

Carl Albert State College has expanded their RN program to accept a larger number of students each year.  The deadline to apply for RN, Physical Therapy Assistant, and Radiologic Technology programs is February 1, 2014.  Students are encouraged to prepare for this application deadline as quickly as possible if interested in being accepted into one of the health related programs.

In conclusion Mr. Ivey stated, “We encourage students to stop by at Poteau or Sallisaw if interested in getting into a class right now.  We will keep enrollment open through Wednesday, January 22 for those making last minute decisions to take classes this semester. We also invite students to check with the CASC Enrollment Center at 918-647-1393 for individualized assistance with spring semester preparations, and in preparing to apply for summer and fall at Carl Albert.”
