Spring Transfer Fair at Carl Albert State College Big Success

Carl Albert State College’s Transfer Fair turned out to be a big success according to Jay Falkner, CASC Director of Enrollment.  “We had 18 universities represented and over 100 students stopped by to visit and gather information about transferring.”

Marsha Caughern, CASC Title III Activity Advisor, helped plan the fair and explained, “This is a vital service we can provide our students as they near graduation at Carl Albert and make decisions about where to transfer.  When we are able to bring the university representatives to campus, it provides our students the chance to hear from various schools and then compare their options without having to do a lot of traveling.  After they narrow their choices, then they can go for campus visits.”

In addition to current CASC students at Poteau and Sallisaw campuses, Falkner stated that several community members took the opportunity to attend the fair and gather information as well.  “We put the invitation out that we welcomed anyone to come by, and we were certainly pleased to see the community respond.”  He concluded, “The university representatives were very excited to see the great turnout at both Poteau and Sallisaw for this event.  Our students are well prepared upon graduation from Carl Albert, and therefore the universities love to have our students transfer to their institutions.”
