Tapley to Receive Distinguished Alumni Award at Carl Albert State College Homecoming

 Jahni S. Tapley is this year’s recipient of the Carl Albert State College Distinguished Alumni Award. She will be honored at CASC Homecoming this Thursday night, November 6, 2014.

Tapley was appointed to serve as a member of the Carl Albert State College Board of Regents beginning in the fall of 2013. Regent Tapley is from Idabel and a 2000 CASC graduate where she attended on a softball scholarship.  She went on to graduate in 2003 from Oklahoma State University, and is a 2006 graduate of Oklahoma City University School of Law. In addition to working as a private practice attorney, she is a part time municipal judge for the cities of Valliant and Haworth, and serves as Interim Chief Executive Officer of McCurtain Memorial Hospital in Idabel.

Regent Tapley’s focus as an attorney is on family law where she is a Guardian ad Litem for children in the middle of custody disputes. She also represents children and parents who are involved in DHS cases. She is a recipient of the 2009 Journal Record Leadership in Law Award, a member of the CHIO (County Health Improvement Organization) Committee, and the OSU Alumni Leadership Board. Her professional memberships include the American Society for Healthcare Risk Management, Oklahoma Bar Association, McCurtain County Bar Association, and Oklahoma Municipal Judges Association.  On a personal level, Regent Tapley is an avid runner and competes in half marathons when time permits.  She is an active member of First Baptist Church, Valliant.
