National ACT

Residual ACT

 

The Residual ACT is administered by Erika Castillo on the Poteau Campus and by Perry Jones on the Sallisaw Campus.  Students must prepay the $65.00 testing fee at the Business Office, prior to the test and bring receipt of payment to the testing room for check in, along with a valid ID.  Students who need to register for the Residual ACT may contact Erika at 918-647-1319 (Poteau) or Perry at 918-775-6977 x2253 (Sallisaw).  The Residual ACT scores are valid only at Carl Albert State College.  The testing times and locations for testing at each campus are as follows: Poteau Campus is in the Ollie Building 3rd floor in room 1322 – starting at 12:45 to 4:15 pm, and on the Sallisaw Campus it is located in the Library – starting at 8:15 am to 12:30 pm.

ACCUPLACER Testing is administered in the Academic Resource Center in the Ollie Center for Academic Excellence on the Poteau Campus and by Perry Jones in the ARC on the Sallisaw Campus.
High school students who tested below a 19 in sub-areas of the ACT and need to raise those sub-areas for admissions and course placement may do so by taking the ACCUPLACER test.
Adult students may test with ACCUPLACER for admissions and course placement.

Testing Hours
Regular Accuplacer testing hours are Monday – Thursday 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. and Friday 8:00 a.m. – 3 p.m. for the Poteau campus. Monday – Thursday 8:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. and Friday 8:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m on the Sallisaw campus.  Please call 918-647-1319 for Poteau and 918-775-6977 x 2253 for Sallisaw to set up an Accuplacer appointment.
 
Fees:
  • The ACCUPLACER test consists of three sections, reading, writing and math.
    Each section is administered free of charge to admitted CASC students the first time it is taken.
  • Retakes are administered at a fee of $5.00 per individual section of the test each additional attempt.
  • Non-CASC students pay of fee of $10 per test section.

Payments Procedures for Retakes:

  • Poteau Campus: Students must go to the Business Office to pay for test(s) and obtain a receipt.
    The receipt is then taken to the ARC.
  • Sallisaw Campus: Students must go to the Business Office to pay for the test(s) and obtain a receipt.  The receipt is then taken to the ARC.

Registration:

  • Students must first visit the Admissions Office and obtain a testing slip detailing which test(s) must be taken.
  • The ACCUPLACER test is administered by appointment. No registration is needed.
  • Tests are administered on the Poteau campus in the ARC in the Ollie Building and on the Sallisaw campus in the ARC.
  • The tests are not timed. Each test takes approximately 45 minutes to 1 hour.  Please arrive in time to allow yourself enough time to complete testing before the center closes.

Testing Policies:

  • Student must have student CASC ID number
  • A valid photo ID must be presented prior to testing
  • Cell phones and electronic devices are not permitted during testing.
College-Level Examination Program (CLEP) allows students to demonstrate that they have acquired college-level mastery of course content in 34 different subject areas. Students who successfully complete a CLEP exam can enrich their degree programs with higher-level courses in the same discipline, expand their horizons by taking a wider array of electives, and avoid the need to repeat material that they already know.   • CLEP exams are administered on the Poteau campus of Carl Albert State College.
  • Each CLEP exam has an administration fee of $20 paid directly to CASC.

Registration:

  • CLEP exams are administered by appointment only.
